Ya finalli got the mood to blog le. Am back from batam for 2 days le... Took some photos there but 99% of it are still with dear... so may as well upload em next time.. hehe...Friday:
Took the mid afternoon ferry to Batam with my parents, irine, pei, ting and dear... Wavemaster... Took a few funi photos on board... hehe.. we were also eating a lot on the ferry.. Mac ah.. bread ah.. drinks ah... sweets ah... prunes ah... pple would haf tot tt we were having our picnic there.. =) Soon, we reached the ferry terminal at Batam Centre.. Met up wif uncle and he drove us to Baloi(uncle's house)...
Grandma was at home.. obviously she is always at home.. we couldnt persuade her to join us for the seafood dinner.. =( Traffic was terrible... Uncle was tellin us abt the situation there.. how the police were tryin to fine pple... haha.. *opps* He also became the tour guide, explaining the places to dear.. where the rich sporeans live... how densely populated some places were.. When the big shoppin mall, bigger than suntec was goin to be open blah blah.... =) It was a long journey... Finalli reached there.. the seafood place by the sea...food by e sea... sea wif food... food in sea... *craaapppzz* It didnt took long b4 auntie and the kids arrive after fetchin ranie from school...
Dinner was nice.. The food was fresh.. cos we get to pick the seafood we want.. Dear was amazed with the "DA4 TOU2 XIA1" Big head prawns... he said it looks like the aliens in duno wat show.. haha.. Prawns, crabs, fish, sotong, yu tiao, vege, gong gong... we couldnt finish it all!!! had to da bao...
Called Mui sis when we reached home.. haha.. someone took off from work tomolo specially to bring us shoppin.. haha.. so nice of her...
Unlike Spore, its not veri safe to take public transport... the common public transport is the Cabs and the Ojeks(spellin SHOULD be wrong), which is the bikes.. yes u can ask the bikes to bring u to places jus like cabs... but i wont wana do tt..eee... But somehow my cousin once told me.. bike is safer than cabs there... cos if travellin alone, if u sense tt the driver is up to something, it will be much easier to jump off a bike than to alight from a contained cab.. true to a certain extent...
Saturday:
Didnt had a good nite sleep at all... i kept imaginin myself being bitten by mosquitoes and couldnt get to sleep at all! The fact that the Muslims began singing their morning prayers at ard 5 or 6 almost make me give up the idea of sleepin... Finalli fell asleep after they ended their prayers... but got a bad dream... Dreamt tt i was running ard a hospital level by level with 2 other pple.. searching for 2 special files.. 1 veri special file and e other one a monthly file.. After finding e files, we gotta run to the lift and alight at the level below us and look for another 2 special files.. And this continued till i shout out "Wah Lao Eh!" and got shaken awake by dear, askin wats the matter... he said i went back to sleep and gave another shake soon after... Decided to wake up instead... wat a night... dun like....
Was havin breakfast when Jack arrived with uncle.. Super early loh! He caught the 7 plus ferry i think... And to think my uncle had already brought him for breakfast at the Bak Ku Teh store... *tsk tsk*
Took some photos whilst waiting for Mui sis to come and fetch us... Its lovely takin the photos at the balcony.. on the hammock.. hahah.. My favourite place in the whole house... I used to spend my time lyin on e hammock doin nothing last time.. feel so comfortable and quiet there....
David arrived before Mui sis.. And when she finalli arrived, we took 2 cars to the DC Mall... didnt buy anithing there... The kids had a nicer time playin at the arcade... Wanted to buy lingerie there... damn cheap!!! but couldnt find ani tt i like.. damn cheap okie!! Less than 5 bucks u can get a bra... hahhahaa... Its not those lousy ones okie!!! Had Mee Rebus cos we were a bit hungry... Shopped a bit the the supermarket there... Jack bought quite a few toiletries... he said veri cheap loh!!! realli is comparably cheaper than in spore... but i wasnt tt keen to buy ani... regret le...wasted... haha
Spent more time fattening up at the Do& Me restaurant where we ate the lovely Mee Soto and fried spring chicken... Added lotsa chilli to my mee soto.. and ended up feeling so hot in e stomach... Shopped a bit more at Lucky Plaza and duno wat mall... tried a top, love it but not the colour... bright pink... sian sian.... Finalli went home to rest...
According to dear, we ate a lot at Batam... i agree upon tt too... Cos when we reached home, we all started munchin on keropok... had those super big prawn xia bing... Tried it dipped in chilli sauce.. haha.. Bet u never tried this b4... dear enjoyed his a lot.. Mui's sis bf came and we introduced each other... finalli get to see him le... hahaha...
Meanwhile, can see the aunties and maids at work... we were having a buffet dinner to celebrate grandma's bday... Seeing them rush so much, dear and i decided to go upstairs n laze ard... Decided to go out wif Jack, David, Irine, Pei and weiwei to get the dessert (lovely agar agars) and buy hehe fireworks!!!
We passed by some lovely buildings which resemble castles and i had the urge to run out to the middle of the road and get shawn to take a photo for me... but i didnt... sigh... Jack was tellin us abt the concept houses at the place where lots of sporeans live and we decided to pop by and take a look... Never regret it... It was lovely... realli loh... i wish i can buy a house there and furnish the whole building with my creativity... ok i lack creativity.. So it shall be shawn's creativity...hehe.. Took some photos of a super huge house.. mansion le lah! It has it own private pool and gasp* a golf course too!!! The winding driveway makes the whole place look like a mansion!! As uncle said... the rich can be so rich... and the poor can be so poor....
We got caught up at David's house... went to fetch his mum.. but the workers had some trouble with the door.. ended up spendin time watchin david and his workers doin the door... David and his workers.. haha.. Guess wat? David is the same age as Jack which is 21! Capable... In batam, lotsa pple are equipped with skills which one cant get from studying.. Skilled pple i call em... David can drive a ferry also... wah make us feel so pathetic like tt.. hahaha...
Finalli reached home.. ate more keropok and fries... Pple started filling in... so mani kids!!! A lot unknown faces!!! hahhaa..,. buffet starts... Scrumptlicious!!! It was quite awkward introducing shawn to the rests... luckily got Mui sis who also had to intro her Johnny... ahhahaa... =) Food was fantastic... Shawn managed to enjoy himself too.. happi =)
Somehow, camera in hand, i became the photographer... duno if its a good thing or bad.. haha... Took so mani photos of the kids... took family photos... got so sweaty... When we sang the bdae song, can see tears whelmin up in grandma's eyes... of joy i assume.. sad thing is tt grandpa wasnt there animore... they always celebrate their bdae together...
Fireworks was wonderful... except for the fact tt some of the kids were frightened of the pop pop sounds... dear managed to take video clips of the fireworks.. nice.. nice to be able to alight the fireworks and see em soaring up e sky n showering down towards us in gold threads... pretty sight... Love it! hope to do it again!
Sitting down at the court and watchin the kids playin was nice.. nice... awww...
As the pple started leaving, i went upstairs to take a nice cooling bath.. When i came down, opps! all were gone!!! tsk tsk! didnt manage to say bye to mui sis... Watch tv and went to sleep soon after...
Sunday:
Woke up after another restless nite..no dreams this time round.. non tt i can remember of.. the muslims prayers kept me awake in the early morning again... boo hoo... Breakfast part1 was cakes... part 2 was fish soup n rice outside! Onli 4 of us went this time.. jack david shawn n me... The famous place sold wonderful fish soup.. quite different from spore one.. they added a certain type of fish to cook the soup... delicious!
Went back Baloi and its keropok again.. hahaha... Tommy kept throwin the fake lizard at me.. its horrendous... erxin... After watchin some tv its lunch time!!! hahaha... makan again... home cooked this time round.. dear started loving the kampung chicken le... hahah... finalli... its tougher meat but nicer... rite dear? Went out to the Megamall at batam centre... Bought a green top... a bit lacy but not too lacy.. hahaha.. Its cheap! Onli ard $7 or $8 bucks... I wish tt i can shop more there... but goin out in grps means tt its difficult to shop... Instead auntie, mum, jack, shawn n me went to the supermarket.. dear says tt seems like supermarket got more things to shop.. hahaa.. I had to deposit my bag at the entrance.. its so small but still got to deposit.. guai4 guai4 de... haiz.. We got some snacks to bring home...
Spend some time filling up stomachs again before we finalli left for the ferry terminal... Grandma look so cute standing there with the stick waving us good bye...Irine says like the da2 gou3 pang4.. haha...
The ferry ride home was more quiet... cos all of us fell asleep... dear was so tired tt once he plonked himself down on e seat, he fell asleep within 5 seconds.. nothing can wake tt pig... imagine him sleeping in e car too! with the rocky roads..so cute...
Thinkin back, its a wonderful idea to haf dear with us... his first visit to batam and i believe should be not bad rite dear? Wat i regret is not being able to go back as often as Jack... he goes there quite often... For me, its onli CNY n grandma's bdae... next time.. i go there to mandi su su... hahaha... Lovely... Milk bath!!
Wat a LONG LONG BLOG! took me 2 hrs to finish... hehe...
Oh ya! Happy 1 and a half yr anniversary dear!!! ( 15/08/05)
